A 15-year-old Crestmead boy has been charged following an alleged attempted break-in in Gumdale and the suspected theft of a vehicle from Kuraby. Queensland Police said the incidents occurred early on April 1. Police received reports at about 12:30 a.m. that a group was allegedly trying to enter a property on Nichols Street, Gumdale. Officers said the group fled in a white Toyota Prado reported stolen during a burglary on Rubicon Crescent, Kuraby, on March 30. A tyre deflation device was deployed as the vehicle travelled along the Pacific Motorway near Rochedale South. Police allege a person was seen hanging from the vehicle’s window before it stopped on Ironwood Street, Crestmead, shortly after 2 a.m. The occupants fled on foot, and officers arrested the teenager nearby. The boy faces two counts of attempted enter dwelling with intent, along with charges relating to unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation, entering a dwelling and receiving tainted property. Police bail was refused, and he was expected to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on April 1. Investigations remain ongoing.
