Three Charged Over Wellington Point Shooting

Queensland police have charged three men over an alleged aggravated burglary in Wellington Point that left a 25-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the foot in December.

Police allege a group broke into a Mander Court home about 1 a.m. on December 8 and confronted the resident. During the altercation, one offender allegedly fired a weapon before the group stole property and fled in a blue Dodge Ram utility vehicle and a BMW X5. The injured man was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Dodge Ram was found damaged in Thorneside the following day, while the BMW X5, allegedly stolen from Kuraby in November, was later recovered undamaged in Loganlea. Police say the incident was targeted and there is no ongoing threat to the wider public.

A 30-year-old Marsden man was arrested on December 12 and remains in custody. Two further men, aged 28 and 29, were arrested at a Waterford West shopping centre on January 7. All three face charges including grievous bodily harm, armed robbery in company, entering a dwelling and committing an offence, and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. The two younger men also face drug-related charges. Investigations remain ongoing.
