Four Teenagers Charged Over Stolen Mercedes

Queensland police have charged four teenagers following the alleged theft of a Mercedes-Benz utility and a dangerous driving incident in Logan on December 30. The vehicle had reportedly been stolen from Wellington Point two days earlier.

Police said officers spotted the vehicle on Muchow Road, Waterford West, at about 8:30 p.m. It was tracked by POLAIR before a tyre deflation device was deployed on the Logan Motorway at Meadowbrook about 40 minutes later.

The vehicle stopped on Charles Street, Beenleigh, where four occupants allegedly fled on foot. Police said all were located and arrested shortly afterward. A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered stolen property, a knife, cannabis and drug utensils.

A 16-year-old Logan Reserve boy faces multiple charges, including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possession of suspected stolen property and entering a dwelling. A 14-year-old Park Ridge boy, a 15-year-old Beenleigh boy and a 13-year-old Park Ridge boy also face various charges. The teenagers are due to appear separately at Beenleigh Children’s Court between January 12 and January 27. The allegations have not been tested in court.
