Rider Charged With 60 Traffic Offences

A 22-year-old Logan Village man has been charged with 60 traffic-related offences allegedly committed across Ipswich, Brisbane and Logan districts on January 1, Queensland police said.

Police allege the man was riding a motorcycle with concealed registration plates when he travelled at 113 kilometres per hour in an 80km/h zone on Waterford Tamborine Road at Logan Village. Highway Patrol officers later located him at his nearby home.

Investigators allege further offences were detected across the districts, including the rider standing on the motorcycle seat while performing a wheelie at 114km/h on the Pacific Motorway at Eight Mile Plains.

The charges include 10 counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving without a licence, speeding, overtaking on the left, proceeding through a red traffic light and lane filtering between slow or stationary vehicles. The man is scheduled to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on January 21.
