Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine and Türkiye had agreed to work on establishing a Black Sea grain corridor during talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The initiative was discussed alongside broader efforts to improve maritime security and support peace in the region. Speaking at a joint press conference in Türkiye, Zelenskyy said the two leaders had also discussed a possible trilateral format involving Ukraine, the United States and Russia, potentially in the first half of November. He said Türkiye, European countries and other partners could also be involved in future discussions. Zelenskyy described Türkiye as a key partner in efforts to protect freedom of navigation, food security and stability in the Black Sea. He said the talks also covered defense production, infrastructure, energy and the implementation of the free trade agreement between Ukraine and Türkiye. The Ukrainian president said Turkish energy companies were expected to increase supplies of generators and other equipment as early as the following week. He also said Ukrainian and Turkish businesses were holding meetings in Istanbul aimed at turning government-level agreements into economic projects.
