A 32-year-old Gympie man has been charged with 13 offences following investigations into two alleged dangerous driving incidents that injured one pedestrian and knocked an e-bike rider from his bicycle. Queensland Police allege that shortly after 11 p.m. on September 7, a silver Kia Carnival was travelling north on Duke Street near Iron Street when it veered onto a footpath and struck a 45-year-old man. The pedestrian suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Gympie Hospital after contacting emergency services. Police further allege that the following morning, a white Nissan X-Trail intentionally swerved toward a 43-year-old man riding an e-bike on Lawrence Street, causing him to fall. The rider was not physically injured, and the vehicle left the scene. Officers arrested the alleged driver at a Norman Street residence on September 19. He faces charges including acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and three counts of unlicensed driving. He is due to appear in Gympie Magistrates Court on September 21. A 33-year-old Childers woman, who police allege was a passenger in the Kia during the first incident, has also been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.
