A 27-year-old man has been charged following a police-involved shooting at Logan Central in March, Queensland Police Service said. The Koongal man remains in custody and is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on May 27.

Police allege officers attended a Wembley Road address at about 7:50 p.m. on March 21 after reports of a disturbance involving an armed man. During the incident, officers discharged their firearms, striking the man, who was taken to hospital for treatment.

The man faces charges including wilful damage, receiving tainted property, serious assault of a police officer while pretending to be or being armed with a weapon, possessing dangerous drugs and going armed so as to cause fear.

The Ethical Standards Command is continuing to investigate the circumstances of the shooting, with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission, in accordance with standard practice.
