A 28-year-old Coombabah man has been charged with multiple rape and child sex offences following a Queensland Police Service investigation into the distribution of child exploitation material. Police said the man was arrested in Edens Landing and charged with three counts of rape, four counts of indecently dealing with a child under 16, one count of distributing child exploitation material and two counts of committing indecent acts. He was expected to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on January 7. The investigation was conducted by detectives from the QPS Argos unit, with assistance from POLAIR and the Logan District Criminal Investigation Branch. Police said the inquiry resulted in the identification of child victims and their removal from harm. Detective Acting Inspector Scott Ballantyne said the arrest demonstrated the QPS commitment to protecting vulnerable children and investigating offenders who use online platforms to conceal their activities.
