A Buderim man has been charged following a two-vehicle crash on the Sunshine Motorway at Mooloolaba on August 17. Police allege the vehicle he was driving crossed onto the wrong side of the road and collided with a Toyota RAV4 at about 10:10 p.m.

The RAV4 driver, a 35-year-old woman from Birtinya, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.

Police allege the 35-year-old Buderim man returned a blood alcohol concentration of 0.2 per cent. His licence was suspended, and he was taken into custody at the scene.

The man has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle and driving while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, including liquor. He is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on September 14. Investigations are continuing, and police are seeking witnesses who saw the white Toyota Hilux before the crash.
