Stolen Truck Tracked Across Queensland

Queensland police have charged two people after a stolen truck carrying a Holden Commodore was tracked from Gympie to the Logan area on August 13. Both vehicles were recovered, and investigations into the alleged thefts are continuing.

Police said a depot on Laurenceson Road, Monkland, was broken into at about 2:30 a.m., and a white MAN TGS truck was stolen. The truck was carrying a red Holden Commodore, which police allege had earlier been stolen from a business on Brisbane Road in Monkland.

The truck was tracked to South Maclean shortly before 8:30 a.m. Police and POLAIR observed a silver Volkswagen Polo travelling with it before the vehicles stopped at separate locations. The truck was later found on Olsen Road, while the Volkswagen travelled to Greenbank and then entered an underground car park at Beenleigh Marketplace.

A 19-year-old Oxenford woman and a 35-year-old South Maclean man were arrested at the shopping centre. Both face charges including unlawful use and possession of motor vehicles in company. The man also faces a charge of driving without a licence. They are due to appear separately at Southport and Beenleigh Magistrates Courts in September.
