A 25-year-old Banyo man has been charged after four people were allegedly assaulted at a grocery store in Brisbane’s north on August 12. The victims were taken to Royal Brisbane Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Queensland Police said officers responded to reports of an assault at a store on Tufnell Road about 11 a.m. It is alleged the man struck a female employee in the head with two bottles and continued assaulting her after she fell to the ground. A member of the public intervened and pulled the man away, police said. The man allegedly then assaulted three other people nearby before being restrained by members of the public until officers arrived. The accused has been charged with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, as well as one count each of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and serious assault of a person over 60.
