NASA will host a news conference Aug. 14 at Kennedy Space Center in Florida to preview a later event celebrating American leadership in aviation, space exploration and emerging technologies. The event will also be connected to the United States’ 250th anniversary. The news conference is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. EDT in the XLV Hangar at the Shuttle Landing Facility. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman, agency leaders and members of Congress are expected to participate. NASA said the future event will bring together members of the public, industry leaders, innovators and aspiring explorers. The agency described it as a showcase of U.S. achievements and ongoing efforts in air and space. The Aug. 14 news conference will be streamed on NASA’s website. U.S. media and digital creators may attend in person, but accreditation requests must be submitted to the Kennedy newsroom by noon Aug. 6.
