A 24-year-old man was seriously injured in a head-on crash involving a car and a truck south of Tiaro on July 27, Queensland Police said. The man was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical but stable condition. Police said the crash occurred shortly before 6:40 a.m. on the Black Swamp Creek Bridge along the Bruce Highway. A red Mitsubishi Outlander collided with a Mitsubishi Canter truck, causing the truck to roll. The truck driver, a 49-year-old Battery Hill man, and his 43-year-old passenger from Little Mountain were not injured. The highway’s southbound lane was closed for about five hours while police investigated and has since reopened. Investigations remain ongoing.
