NASA has announced the upcoming space mission of astronaut Anil Menon, who will be launched to the International Space Station (ISS) aboard the Roscosmos Soyuz MS-29 spacecraft. Scheduled for lift-off on July 14, 2026, Menon will be accompanied by Roscosmos cosmonauts Pyotr Dubrov and Anna Kikina. This marks Menon’s first spaceflight, with Dubrov and Kikina both embarking on their second.

The launch is set for 10:47 a.m. EDT from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, initiating a brief two-orbit journey to the ISS. The spacecraft is expected to dock at the station’s Prichal module at approximately 1:56 p.m. EDT the same day. Live coverage of the launch and subsequent activities, including docking and hatch opening, will be available on NASA+, Amazon Prime, and via NASA’s YouTube channel.

Once onboard the ISS, the trio will join an international crew including NASA astronauts Jessica Meir, Jack Hathaway, and Chris Williams, ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot, and Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, Sergei Mikaev, and Andrey Fedyaev as part of Expedition 74/75. During his eight-month stay, Menon will engage in scientific research and technology demonstrations designed to enhance human space exploration and provide benefits back on Earth. His projects include advancing semiconductor crystal production in space, experimenting with augmented reality and artificial intelligence for medical procedures, and testing bioprinting in microgravity.

This mission continues the legacy of the ISS, which has housed astronauts continuously for over 25 years, serving as a base for scientific advancements and preparations for future long-duration missions to the Moon and Mars under NASA’s Artemis program.
