In a dramatic sequence of events, Queensland Police arrested four juveniles following a vehicle theft in Sunnybank on the evening of June 5, 2026. Authorities charged the youths after they allegedly stole and dangerously operated a blue BYD Shark from a shopping center carpark on McCullough Street around 7:30 pm. The stolen vehicle was spotted less than an hour later in Woodridge, being driven erratically. A coordinated pursuit ensued across several Brisbane suburbs, culminating in Logan where the police deployed a Tyre Deflation Device to halt the vehicle. Despite attempts to escape, the vehicle eventually lost control on Birun Street, Woodridge, where the arrests took place. Among those apprehended were a 13-year-old from Eagleby and a 13-year-old from Waterford West, each facing multiple charges including unlawful use of a motor vehicle in company. An 11-year-old from Waterford West was charged with the unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possession of a knife in a public place. A 14-year-old from Kingston was also charged and is due in Brisbane Children’s Court on June 16. The cases will be heard at Beenleigh Children’s Court.
