Police in Scarborough apprehended a 16-year-old girl this morning, involved in a series of property offenses including house burglary and vehicle theft. The Queensland Police Service reported the arrest took place in Deception Bay after a brief pursuit of a stolen vehicle. The incident began around 9 a.m. when the juvenile allegedly entered a residence on Alexandra Street, stealing various items before fleeing the scene. Shortly thereafter, she reportedly commandeered a silver Nissan Dualis from a woman in the driveway of her James Street home. The vehicle was later found by police on Commander Street just after 10 a.m., leading to the arrest of the suspect. Charges against the teenager include entering a dwelling to commit an indictable offence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of suspected stolen property. She is currently held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Redcliffe Children’s Court on June 8.
