Police in Ipswich successfully apprehended two individuals involved in a series of dangerous incidents involving a stolen vehicle on May 28. The duo, a 25-year-old Harlaxton man and an 18-year-old woman, were arrested following reckless driving and a collision with a police car. The pursuit began around 4:30 pm when unmarked police vehicles started tracking the stolen BMW sedan after noting its suspicious movement along Spender Street in Riverview. The situation escalated around 5:21 pm on Bergin Street in Booval, where the BMW reversed into a following police car before speeding away from the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident. The vehicle was later found abandoned in Kedron Brook, north Brisbane. The suspects were subsequently located and detained at an address in Wooloowin. Facing serious charges, the man will appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court today, while the woman is scheduled for a court appearance on June 22. The BMW had been reported stolen earlier in the day from a Sherwood Road address in Toowong.
