Two individuals have been apprehended following a police investigation into drug trafficking and dangerous vehicle operation in Cannonvale, Queensland. The Queensland Police Service (QPS) confirmed the arrests and subsequent charges. On April 17th, police observed a vehicle, reportedly carrying stolen tools, being driven recklessly outside a Palm Drive address in Cannonvale. This sighting led to further investigations which culminated in a search warrant being executed on April 26th at a residence on Hermitage Drive, Airlie Beach. During the raid, a 31-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were arrested. Authorities seized over 200 grams of methylamphetamine, 40 grams of cocaine, 87 grams of GHB, and $44,000 in cash. Additionally, a shortened firearm, drug paraphernalia, and knuckledusters were found at the location. The 31-year-old man from Jubilee Pocket faces 14 charges, including multiple counts of possessing dangerous drugs and unlawful possession of weapons. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Proserpine Magistrates Court on June 22nd. The 23-year-old woman from Cannonvale has been charged with 12 offences, including drug possession, evasion, and dangerous operation of a vehicle. She is also being held in custody with a court appearance set for June 15th at the same venue.
