Toowoomba witnessed a string of vehicle and property offenses over the last weekend of January, leading to the arrest of a 16-year-old girl. Queensland Police have charged the teenager with 13 offenses, which included multiple break-ins and thefts across various locations in the region. The alleged crime spree occurred between January 30 and 31. The teenager is accused of breaking into three vehicles at a single address in Saint Andrews Crescent, Highfields, and other vehicles on Trevean Drive and Bennet Street in Kleinton. Additionally, she reportedly stole a handbag from a property on Camborne Street, Kleinton, and fuel from a service station on Cawdor Road, Highfields. The spree culminated in the theft of a blue 2025 X4 BMW from a Sportsman Drive address, which police later found abandoned near Carey and Ruthven Streets in Kearneys Spring. The charges against the Gowrie Junction girl include seven counts of entering premises to commit an indictable offense, two counts of entering a dwelling to commit an indictable offense, and one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing, entering a dwelling with intent, and masking her face with intent to commit an indictable offense. She is scheduled to appear in Toowoomba Children’s Court on February 5. As investigations continue, Queensland Police are urging anyone with information, especially CCTV footage, to come forward.
