NASA is offering the public a unique opportunity to have their names sent to the Moon as part of the Artemis II mission, scheduled to launch no later than April 2026. This initiative allows individuals to submit their names to be included on an SD card that will accompany the Orion spacecraft and Space Launch System (SLS) rocket on a test flight around the Moon.

The Artemis II mission marks the first crewed flight under NASA’s Artemis campaign, which aims to pave the way for future human exploration of the Moon and Mars. Four astronauts—Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen from the Canadian Space Agency—will embark on the approximately 10-day mission to test systems and hardware essential for deep space exploration.

Participants can add their names to this historic mission by signing up online before the deadline of January 21, 2026. In return, they will receive a downloadable boarding pass with their name, serving as a collectible memento of their involvement in this landmark event. NASA’s acting associate administrator for the Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate, Lori Glaze, expressed enthusiasm for the mission’s role in inspiring global audiences and leading the way in human space exploration.

For more information, individuals can visit NASA’s official website to learn more about the Artemis II mission and the broader goals of the Artemis campaign.
