Police in Logan have apprehended a 24-year-old man from Logan Reserve following a series of armed robberies and carjackings that occurred on the evening of July 7, 2026. The suspect is accused of threatening multiple motorists with a knife on Chambers Flat Road, subsequently stealing two vehicles within a half-hour period.

The initial theft involved a silver Ford Falcon sedan. Shortly after being stolen, the vehicle was involved in a traffic accident on Chambers Flat Road in Waterford West, colliding with two other vehicles. Following the crash, the assailant proceeded to steal a grey Nissan X-Trail and fled the scene. During these incidents, one man was injured but sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was later taken to Logan Hospital.

Following a detailed investigation, the suspect was arrested on July 10 and has been charged with three counts of armed robbery, in addition to charges of threatening violence and dangerous operation of a vehicle. He is scheduled for a court appearance at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on July 13, 2026.
