In Ipswich, Queensland, a 16-year-old boy has been charged following the alleged theft of a vehicle from a shopping center on August 7. The Queensland Police Service reported that the teenager approached a 67-year-old woman at South Station Road, stole her white Mazda sedan, and fled the scene, leaving the woman with minor injuries.

The stolen vehicle was later spotted by police in Ipswich and monitored as it traveled through Logan and into the northern Gold Coast. Officers successfully used a tyre deflation device at Paradise Point, bringing the vehicle to a halt on Oxley Drive. The suspect, a resident of Chuwar, was apprehended at the scene.

The teenager faces 16 charges, including robbery, entering premises and committing an indictable offense, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, fraud, and several driving offenses. He is scheduled to appear in Ipswich Childrens Court today, August 8. The investigation is ongoing, and police are encouraging anyone with information to contact Policelink or Crime Stoppers.
