In a recent series of proactive patrols in Brisbane’s Safe Night Precinct, Queensland Police have confiscated various weapons and drugs, furthering efforts to enhance public safety. These measures are part of the enforcement of Jack’s Law, aimed at curbing anti-social behavior and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

On August 5th, officers from the Brisbane City Bike Squad intercepted a 37-year-old man on Edward Street, allegedly riding an e-scooter without a helmet. A subsequent search revealed the possession of an edged weapon, methamphetamine, GHB, glass smoking pipes, and fraudulent cards. The individual, from Caboolture South, faces multiple charges including drug possession and carrying a knife in public. He is scheduled to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 20th.

The day prior, another individual was stopped under similar circumstances on Elizabeth Street. The 33-year-old from Woodridge was found with five uncapped needles and a flick knife. He has been charged accordingly and is expected to appear in court on August 25th.

These incidents underscore the ongoing dedication of Brisbane City police to maintain safety through regular patrols and compliance checks, targeting the illegal possession of weapons and addressing the misuse of personal mobility devices.
