Tragic Collision Claims Life in Toowoomba

In a devastating incident this afternoon, a fatal traffic crash occurred in Newtown, Toowoomba. The accident, which involved a truck and a Nissan X-trail, took place around 1:15 PM near the intersection of James Street and Anzac Avenue.

The Queensland Police Service reported that the truck, traveling eastbound, collided head-on with the Nissan before crashing into a residential unit block. Tragically, the driver of the truck, a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fortunately, the four occupants of the Nissan escaped without serious injuries. However, a woman inside the unit at the time of the crash was treated for shock.

The Forensic Crash Unit is conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
