NASA and SpaceX are set to make history with the return of the Crew-10 mission, as it becomes the first to splash down off the California coast for NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. The undocking from the International Space Station is scheduled for no earlier than 12:05 p.m. EDT on Thursday, August 7, with the splashdown targeted for 11:58 a.m. on Friday, August 8, pending favorable weather conditions.

The mission features a diverse crew, including NASA astronauts Nichole Ayers and Anne McClain, JAXA astronaut Takuya Onishi, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Kirill Peskov. The crew has spent five months on a scientific expedition aboard the orbiting laboratory and will bring back time-sensitive research data to Earth.

NASA will provide comprehensive live coverage of the event, streaming on NASA+, Amazon Prime, and other platforms, starting from hatch closure at 9:45 a.m. on August 7. The splashdown will be followed by a live media teleconference featuring key figures from NASA, SpaceX, and JAXA, offering insights into the mission’s achievements and the future of the Commercial Crew Program.
