A 35-year-old Hemmant man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder after two Queensland police officers were allegedly assaulted during a disturbance in Brisbane’s south on September 27. Officers were called to Bogong Street at about 5:10 a.m. following reports of a dispute between two men. Police said one man allegedly struck a male constable in the neck with a knife and assaulted a male senior constable before fleeing. The injured constable received first aid at the scene and was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in stable condition. Officers later found the suspect outside a business on Wondall Road, Manly West, at about 7 a.m. and took him into custody.
