Emerald AI, Google and NVIDIA have launched the AI Energy Management Alliance, a coalition focused on helping data centers dynamically manage their electricity use as demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure grows.

The companies said the initiative is intended to advance more flexible and efficient data centers capable of adapting their power consumption to conditions across the electricity grid. The effort reflects growing attention to the energy demands associated with scaling AI systems.

The alliance describes AI factories—large-scale infrastructure supporting the intelligence era—as requiring innovation both within data centers and across the broader power system. The announcement was made Sept. 16, 2026, according to NVIDIA’s newsroom.
