NVIDIA has outlined how AI factories can optimize electricity use while converting computing capacity into AI tokens, highlighting the growing importance of power management in large-scale artificial intelligence operations. In a post published Sept. 15, the company described an August demonstration involving Silicon Valley Power and Emerald AI. During the event, the utility signaled an AI factory to adjust its power consumption as regional air-conditioning demand increased. Emerald AI executive Varun Sivaram observed the demonstration remotely with a team of engineers. NVIDIA said the example illustrates how AI facilities can respond to grid conditions and improve coordination between electricity providers and high-performance computing operations.
