Police Seek Leads After Car Fire

Queensland police are seeking public assistance after a vehicle stolen from Kinka Beach was later found deliberately burned at Gracemere on September 11.

The light blue Hyundai i30, bearing New South Wales registration BT69BX, was reportedly taken from a caravan park on Scenic Highway at about 1 a.m.

Emergency services were called to the vehicle fire on Gavial Gracemere Road, near Allen Road, around 5 a.m. Investigators from the Rockhampton Criminal Investigation Branch allege the vehicle was deliberately set alight.

Police are appealing for sightings, CCTV or dashcam footage showing the vehicle or anyone associated with it. Information should be provided to Policelink using reference number QP2601777476. Anonymous reports can be made to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
