Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the command post of the 95th Polissia Separate Air Assault Brigade and met with troops operating in the Oleksandrivka area, according to Ukraine’s presidential office. The meeting included Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Mykhailo Drapatyi and Airborne Forces Commander Oleh Apostol.

Apostol briefed Zelenskyy on operations in the Dnipro and Donetsk regions, including activity near Slovyansk, Kramatorsk, Huliaipole and Kostiantynivka. Officials also discussed recruitment, alternative mobilization measures, the use of foreign volunteers and efforts to return service members who have gone absent without leave.

The talks covered equipment needs, including unmanned ground vehicles, quad bikes and long-range artillery ammunition. Zelenskyy said the requirements of the units would be addressed and congratulated the soldiers on Ukraine’s Independence Day.

During the visit, Zelenskyy presented the Order of the Golden Star to Col. Ruslan Maryshev, commander of the 95th Brigade and a Hero of Ukraine. The presidential office said units under Maryshev’s command had taken part in operations in the Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro and Donetsk regions. Other service members received military honors, and the delegation observed a minute of silence for fallen Ukrainian troops.
