First ladies Olena Zelenska of Ukraine and Sirje Karis of Estonia met in Kyiv with participants of a technology and creativity program for Ukrainian schoolgirls, supported by Estonian partners. The initiative aims to build confidence, creative and logical thinking, problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills among girls aged 8 to 11. About 300 girls from Zhytomyr and Malyn are expected to participate in 20 classes led by trained instructors. The first session was held at Kyiv’s Cuboid Museum of Mathematics on Aug. 26, with both first ladies attending. The program is funded by the Estonian Centre for International Development and implemented by Estonian organizations HK Unicorn Squad MTÜ and Proud Engineers OÜ. Ukraine’s Malyn Education Department and the Education Department of the Zhytomyr City Council are also supporting the initiative.
