Samsung says its updated Smart Switch tool will make it easier for users to move from iPhone or other Android devices to the new Galaxy Z Fold8 series. The changes, introduced with One UI 9, are designed to simplify data transfers and help users maintain familiar settings when setting up a new phone. Users switching from iOS can begin the process by scanning a QR code displayed on their new Galaxy device, without separately installing Smart Switch on the iPhone. Samsung also says the devices can connect wirelessly, reducing the need to locate a compatible cable or adapter. The updated service supports the transfer of additional information, including passwords, passkeys, call history, accessibility settings and eSIM details, alongside contacts, photos, messages, calendars and apps. Users can also adjust swipe gestures and home-screen layouts, with Samsung’s Good Lock customization tools offering further options. Samsung is also expanding cross-platform sharing through Quick Share. Devices running One UI 9 or One UI 8.5 will support enhanced sharing with iOS devices, including AirDrop compatibility on select models such as the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Flip8 and Galaxy S26. Availability and transferable data may vary by device, operating system and region. Post navigation NVIDIA Puts Groq 3 LPX Into Production Samsung Brings Gaming Ecosystem to Gamescom
