Queensland Police have charged a 21-year-old Waterford West man with 95 offences linked to the alleged online distribution, solicitation and possession of child exploitation material. Detectives from the Townsville Child Abuse and Sexual Crimes Unit identified the man during an investigation into online distribution activity. Police allege he used multiple online accounts and encrypted communications across several platforms. A search warrant was executed at a Muchow Road address on July 23, where police located the man and seized digital devices. He was initially charged with 17 offences and remanded in custody. Following forensic examinations, investigators laid a further 78 charges on August 22, including allegations involving hidden networks, anonymising services and online communications. A woman who was at the address during the search was also arrested and charged with drug trafficking offences. The man remains in custody and is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on October 16. Police urged parents and carers to remain engaged with children about their online activity and report concerns to authorities.
