Samsung Highlights Six Ice Types

Samsung Electronics has outlined the ice-making technology featured across its global Bespoke AI Refrigerator lineup, highlighting six ice types designed for different beverages, foods and consumer preferences.

The company said ice options vary by region and refrigerator model. Smaller, crushed ice is intended for rapidly cooling drinks, while larger pieces melt more slowly and can keep beverages chilled for longer periods.

Selected refrigerator models use technology designed to control the freezing rate and produce clear, solid sphere ice. Samsung said transparency and shape are important characteristics for larger ice types, particularly when used in drinks.

The company’s announcement was published in an infographic on the Samsung Global Newsroom on Aug. 18, 2026. The materials describe how its refrigerators are designed to accommodate differing drinking cultures and regional preferences.
