Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with warriors, veterans and people with disabilities taking part in the “Will to Live” sports competition in Ivano-Frankivsk, according to the presidential website. Participants competed in eight events, including table tennis, archery, darts, basketball shooting, rowing-machine exercises, kettlebell lifting, static weight holding and barbell press. Zelenskyy joined the athletes in table tennis, barbell lifting and archery. The director of the facility hosting the competition briefed the president on regional sports development and efforts to involve veterans in physical and psychological rehabilitation programs. Zelenskyy also spoke with participants and signed the battle flags of their brigades. During the meeting, artist Vasyl Semko presented Zelenskyy with a wooden panel depicting Saint Nicholas as a military chaplain. Semko created the artwork after serving in the defense of Avdiivka as a member of Ukraine’s 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade.
