Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung has outlined a mid- to long-term growth strategy for Brazil, including expanded local production, stronger vehicle sales and investment in electrified mobility. Chung discussed the plans during a visit to Hyundai Motor Company’s plant in Piracicaba, according to a company newsroom release dated July 30, 2026. Hyundai plans to strengthen its sport utility vehicle lineup in Brazil and develop electrified models tailored to local conditions. The company is also evaluating an ethanol-gasoline hybrid powertrain, reflecting Brazil’s established use of ethanol-based fuels. The group said it will explore hydrogen mobility and renewable energy opportunities through its affiliates, local research and development efforts, and partnerships with academic institutions. The strategy is intended to expand Hyundai’s technology capabilities while supporting the country’s energy transition. Hyundai also highlighted its ongoing corporate social responsibility initiatives in Brazilian communities, saying the programs are aimed at contributing to sustainable social development.
