First Lady Visits Youth Support Programs

Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zelenska visited the School of Superheroes and the Voices Camp in Chernivtsi, highlighting education and psychosocial support programs backed by her foundation. The initiatives serve children affected by illness, displacement and the war in Ukraine.

The School of Superheroes has operated at the Chernivtsi Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital since January 2025. According to the presidential website, more than 1,300 children have continued their education there and received over 15,000 educational services during the center’s first 18 months.

Zelenska spoke with students and teachers and observed classes for primary- and secondary-school pupils, as well as younger patients in a preschool classroom. She said the program helps young patients maintain a sense of normal childhood while receiving medical treatment.

She also met with psychologists, camp leaders and participants at the Voices Camp, which is being held for the third consecutive year with foundation support. The camp has organized 18 sessions for more than 940 children and teenagers, including young people from frontline and de-occupied areas, children of military personnel and those who lost relatives or homes during the war. This year, about 450 children participated in eight sessions, twice as many as last year. Psychologists and art therapists provide support aimed at helping participants manage anxiety and rebuild a sense of safety.
