The Queensland Police Service is investigating the death of a man who was taken into custody following a mental health incident at Highgate Hill on July 23. Police attended an address on Colville Street at about 12:36 p.m. The man was subsequently taken into custody and transported to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The Ethical Standards Command is investigating the circumstances and cause of death on behalf of the State Coroner. The Crime and Corruption Commission is providing independent oversight.
