Queensland police have charged a 15-year-old boy following an alleged assault involving a 16-year-old student at a school in Manunda on July 21. Police allege the teenager approached the 16-year-old in the school grounds at about 11 a.m., threatened him with scissors and assaulted him, causing facial and back injuries. The accused does not attend the school. The 15-year-old was arrested on July 22 after police executed a search warrant at a Manunda address. He has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and assault occasioning bodily harm while armed. The boy is due to appear in Cairns Children’s Court on August 6.
