Samsung Electronics has announced the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9, new smartwatches focused on continuous health monitoring, AI-powered insights and improved battery performance. The devices were unveiled July 22, with preorders beginning in select markets and general availability scheduled for Aug. 7. The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is designed for outdoor sports and demanding conditions. It features a 47-millimeter titanium case, an 800 mAh battery, a display with peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits and support for trail-running and diving metrics. Samsung said the watch is rated for 10 ATM water resistance, IP69K protection and EN13319 certification for diving equipment. The Galaxy Watch9 is aimed at everyday wellness and will be offered in 40- and 44-millimeter sizes. It includes aluminum casing, a battery of up to 445 mAh and a display reaching 3,000 nits. Both models use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear Elite platform and run Wear OS powered by Samsung with One UI 9 Watch. Health features across the lineup include sleep-apnea risk detection, baseline vital monitoring, a Heart Health Score, Daily Cardio Load, Fitness Index and hearing alerts. Samsung said availability and features may vary by market, compatible smartphone and regulatory approval. The company also announced trial subscriptions for Strava and iFIT in eligible markets.
