Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer honored fallen Ukrainian service members during Starmer’s final visit to Ukraine as prime minister, according to Ukraine’s presidential office. The visit took place in Kyiv on July 16, 2026, during a series of meetings focused on defense, diplomacy and bilateral relations. The United Kingdom announced €300 million in support for the joint delivery, with Sweden, of 16 advanced aircraft to Ukraine. Zelenskyy and Starmer also discussed the strength of cooperation between the two countries since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. During the visit, Zelenskyy said Ukraine must remain prepared to protect its population and secure energy supplies through the winter. He also welcomed the start of work by Ukraine’s new government, headed by Prime Minister Sergii Koretskyi. Zelenskyy separately met Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to discuss the diplomatic situation and possible steps to revive peace negotiations. Fidan briefed the Ukrainian president on Türkiye’s efforts to support the process, according to the presidential office.
