Authorities are currently investigating a serious collision involving two vehicles that occurred on the Sir Leo Hielscher Bridge in Murarrie, Queensland. The incident took place on the evening of July 9, around 8:13 pm, when a black Yamaha motorcycle collided with the rear of a blue GWM Haval Jolion. The motorcycle rider, a man in his 30s, was critically injured and is currently hospitalized in a critical condition. The occupants of the Haval sustained only minor injuries. Following the crash, the southbound section of the Gateway Motorway Bridge was narrowed down to one lane, causing traffic disruptions until it reopened at 11 pm. The Forensic Crash Unit of the Queensland Police Service is leading the investigation into the crash.
