Police in Collingwood Park have apprehended a 25-year-old man on several drug and weapon charges following a vehicle search on June 26, 2026. The arrest came after local officers responded to reports of erratic behavior on Banksia Street.

Upon their arrival, the Goodna Station officers located the suspect inside a 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander, where they detected a strong odour prompting an immediate search. The search led to the discovery of approximately 8.4 kilograms of cannabis, a significant sum of cash, MDMA, various pharmaceutical drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a large knife.

The charges against the Collingwood Park man include six counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of supplying dangerous drugs, possessing items associated with the commission of crime, unauthorized possession of medicines, unauthorized possession of explosives, possession of property suspected to be procured from drug offenses, and possessing a knife in public. He is currently held in custody and is scheduled for a court appearance at the Ipswich Magistrates Court on July 15.
