In a recent confrontation in Woodhill, a 41-year-old man was charged after allegedly threatening police officers with a firearm. The incident occurred late Friday evening when police responded to a welfare check on Caswell Road. According to Queensland Police Service (QPS), the situation escalated when the man advanced towards the officers while armed, prompting police to shoot him. He was subsequently provided first aid at the scene and airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in stable condition. No injuries were reported among the police or the public. The man now faces two counts of serious assault of a police officer while armed, along with charges for unlawful possession of a weapon and contravening a police protection direction. He is being held in custody and is expected to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on June 29.
