Europol and INTERPOL have intensified their collaboration to combat global criminal activities by renewing their partnership and establishing a new set of Joint Key Operational Priorities (JKOP). The agreement, aimed at strengthening efforts against transnational organized crime, was formalized during INTERPOL’s European Regional Conference in Toledo, Spain, in May 2026. The partnership renewal between the two major law enforcement organizations will enhance coordination in combating various crime areas, including cybercrime, economic and financial crime, and counter-terrorism. The JKOP, developed by operational experts from both Europol and INTERPOL, is designed to foster a more unified and proactive response to criminal networks that operate across international borders. Highlighting recent successes under this collaborative framework, Europol spearheaded Operation Custos Viridis, which focused on environmental crime and waste trafficking, and Operation Global Chain, which resulted in the arrest of 158 human traffickers and the safeguarding of 1,194 victims. Additionally, Operation Pandora led to 80 arrests and the seizure of over 37,700 cultural artifacts involved in major art trafficking. These operations underscore the practical outcomes of the strategic cooperation between Europol and INTERPOL in dismantling complex criminal networks that pose significant threats globally. This renewed commitment not only reinforces the operational capabilities of Europol and INTERPOL but also extends their international reach, enabling better intelligence sharing and coordinated actions among law enforcement authorities worldwide. As critical players in the global security architecture, their combined efforts are crucial in maintaining safety and order across nations. Post navigation Brussels Hosts Russian Dialogue
