Two Teens Charged After MacGregor Burglary

Two teenage girls have been charged following an alleged burglary involving violence at a residence in MacGregor, Brisbane, in the early hours of May 18, Queensland Police said.

Police allege that three teenagers entered a Craigview Street home about 1:30 a.m. and threatened a 24-year-old man with a knife taken from the property while demanding belongings and vehicle keys. The man was allegedly forced outside toward his vehicle before a physical altercation occurred.

The group allegedly stole several items, including a grey Honda Jazz, which was later found abandoned in MacGregor. Detectives from the Morningside Child Protection and Investigation Unit executed search warrants at several Brisbane addresses on May 18 as part of the investigation.

A 14-year-old Calamvale girl and a 13-year-old Kuraby girl face multiple charges, including entering a dwelling, armed robbery, deprivation of liberty and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. Their police bail was refused, and they were due to appear in Brisbane Children’s Court on May 19.

Investigations remain ongoing. Police are seeking CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage from the MacGregor area during the early hours of May 18. Information can be provided to Policelink on 131 444 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
