Queensland police have charged two men after allegedly seizing 23.5 kilograms of cocaine, 10,000 MDMA tablets and other drugs during an investigation into drug trafficking across the state. Officers from the Logan Major and Organised Crime Squad executed search warrants at two Currumbin properties and one Nerang address on May 13 as part of Operation Yankee Mako. Police said they also seized cannabis, steroids, $60,000 in cash, a money counter, prescription medication and encrypted mobile phones. A 57-year-old Tugun man faces multiple charges, including trafficking dangerous drugs, supplying cocaine and possessing MDMA, cannabis, cocaine and tainted property. A 36-year-old Nerang man has been charged with trafficking dangerous drugs, possessing steroids and controlled drugs, and offences relating to electronic information access. Both men were scheduled to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on May 14. Detective Inspector Craig Bowman said the operation had removed a significant quantity of dangerous drugs from the community, while the charges remain allegations until tested in court.
