Police in Dalby, Queensland, have formally charged a 46-year-old local man following a stabbing incident that occurred on the afternoon of May 6, 2026. The charged individual is facing one count of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm after allegedly attacking a 23-year-old man. The incident took place around 2:30 pm near Moreton Street along the Myall Creek footpath. According to police reports, the accused approached the young man and, after a brief confrontation, stabbed him twice in the left upper arm before fleeing the scene. Authorities were able to apprehend the suspect near Oakwood Street just hours after the attack. The victim was initially taken to Dalby Hospital but due to the severity of his injuries, he was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where he remains in serious condition. Police have confirmed that the two men involved in the incident did not know each other prior to the attack. The accused is set to appear in the Dalby Magistrates Court on Thursday, May 7.
