A man faces multiple charges following a traffic accident in Broadbeach, where his vehicle struck a bus stop and a streetlight, Queensland Police reported. The incident occurred on the evening of April 17 at the intersection of Charles Avenue and Surf Parade.

The 31-year-old driver from Pacific Pines was detained by bystanders until police arrived and took him into custody. Fortunately, there were no physical injuries reported from the crash. The accused has been charged with dangerous vehicle operation, influence of intoxicating substances, unlicensed driving, possession of dangerous drugs, and illegal possession of specific medicines.

Following his arrest, he was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on May 29. The Queensland Police emphasize the importance of responsible driving and adherence to road safety laws to prevent such incidents and reduce fatalities on the roads.
