Queensland police have charged a 32-year-old man following an alleged burglary involving violence at a Brighton Road address in Highgate Hill on April 1. A 39-year-old resident was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was reported to be in stable condition.

Police allege the West End man entered the property at about 6:40 p.m. and assaulted the resident. He was taken into custody nearby approximately 20 minutes later. Investigators believe the two men were not known to each other.

The man has been charged with entering a dwelling with intent, assault occasioning bodily harm and unlawful possession of suspected stolen property. He is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on April 2. Police are seeking information from the public under reference number QP2600641176.
